I write about stocks, and bonds on this blog on a almost regular basis but I never seem to talk about gold. Gold has been used as form of currency for thousands of years, and even today it is still traded. Many people are unaware of this fact, but awareness is slowly rising. As a result of all this government spending here, and internationally, currencies are depreciating at an alarming rate. I for once am scared that my dollars will be worthless, and I’m now looking into gold coins bullion. Why should you buy gold coins? First and foremost it’s better to buy gold in small amounts so that it’s easy to sell any amount that you choose (rather than having to sell an entire block). One company that I’m a fan of is called Regal since they offer better customer service and they have better prices than other companies that I’ve looked at, mainly Monex & Goldline.
If you would like to hedge against your currency falling I would highly suggest looking at different commodities, but gold primarily. Before the Federal Reserve abolished the gold standard, gold use to back up the United States Dollar. So far gold has been on the rise, and I see the wisdom to go out and buy gold bullion.

Mailboxes, a great time to buy

While this blog is about many different topics we like to talk about different products. One of our most favorite topics to talk about is how to get a great deal by shopping on different sites. Since the majority of the United States people (myself included) are suffering the effects of the recession, discretionary spending has gone down. While this is true, it doesn’t mean that I’m not willing to splurge when I see a deal. One thing that I have wanted to change for a while is my mailbox. It’s an old thing that hasn’t been changed in many years.
Because of this I started looking for a new wall mount mailbox, and luckily I was able to find cheap but sturdy wall mounted mailboxes at mailboxixchange.com. I prefer wall mount mailboxes because they are less likely to get beat up by kids, and people are less likely to steal your mail when it’s so close to your home. Anyway, while surfing on their site I was able to find some great looking house mailboxes that I think would look great.

MM Accounts

Money market accounts are just like saving accounts except that they are not FDIC insured (most of the time). The benefit of money market accounts as opposed to regular savings accounts is that they can make you a bit more money with not a lot of risk. Now the amount of money that you will make is minimal but every penny counts. I for one have a Paypal Money market account and that seems to work very well for me although I keep a very little amount of money within it. I recommend money market accounts only if you are able to take some risk, otherwise I recommend going with a strong bank with a good history like FNBO or ING bank.

Financial Security

People who have just recently retired would soon face the question as to where they would like to spend their retired life. With the monthly pension they would be receiving its best to choose a place that is cheap and enjoyable so that they would be financially stable in their golden years.
One great retirement place to check is South East Asia. The countries in these areas are great to retire in many aspects. The weather is great since retirees will be living in the tropics. But above all, everything is cheap as well and retirees could actually live a comfortable life even if they are only receiving $1000 pension a month.

If there is one thing that I have learned while taking my business communications class is that translating is a key part in communicating. Business are no longer local, rather they are now becoming multinational and as a result many memos, contracts, and other documents must be available in different languages. This can be hard because in many corporations today they hire a translator as a full time employee. This of course is bad because they then have to pay a full time salary, benefits, and other costs. Of course this is an old time practice, and today your company can go online to find a translator to do a job translating with a fast turn around time. Your company should not have to hire a full time employee for a single translation.
One such company that I have found is called Translia. Like I described above you can hire a translator on Translia to through your work. In addition you can do a much more specific translator prices that you specify. In addition they even offer free translations, and if you want more you can pay for what you want. Furthermore you can hire who you want, and pay for what you want; nothing more, nothing less. I highly suggest you check them out if you have something to translate.

Car Insurance

Nowadays with the recession prices for many commodities are on the rise, and one that I’ve noticed is Car Insurance which here in the United States is a requirement to drive our cars on the road. Luckily I was able to find a couple different insurance companies that offer better rates. One such company offers Auto Insurance at or below market price. After browsing this site I have found that I could save quite a bit of money by switching from one of the major auto insurance providers. In addition this insurance provider does a good job of providing quality insurance for a not so high price. This is the opposite of most providers. Many providers when providing you with cheaper plans do not provide you with all the services or as much coverage that you would get with a moderately priced plan. Cheap Car Insurance is hard to come by, and is not a opportunity that should be left to pass.
The coverage is offered to citizens of Maryland, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey.
If your in the market for insurance, and you live in one of the three states mentioned above (Maryland, Pennsylvania, or New Jersey) then I highly recommend that you at least take a look at the links above. You will most likely find out that they offer the best price possible, and the extra money can be used to pad your safety net.

As a finance major with a minor in both economics, and math I know that it is hard to navigate the financial world with all the ratios, and percentages. Fortunately I was able to find a site that claims to help people save money. This site has all the calculators that a family will need to be able to find out how much to save to reach a goal in a X amount of years. In addition they have tips to save money on credit cards, groceries, insurance, gas, and other bills. One thing that I found interesting is the fact that they offer spreadsheets that you can download that have all the formulas preloaded into them. Efficiency in business and school

It’s important to maintain efficiency in all endeavours that you choose to pursue. Being the student, and finance major that I am (with a minor in both economics, and math) I have come to realize that it is sometimes easier to stay home and study as oppose to wasting time in a class. For example instead of going to my chemistry classes I bought a CHEM Lecture Note, and a CHEM Exam to study from. Buy doing these two things I was able to go to work for a couple extra hours, and I was able to better manage my time by not having to wade through superfluous information that had no need to be there.
It’s not just for chemistry that I’ve done this for. Many of the classes that I’m taking have notes, and exams online. For example I was able to find a accounting exam online, and 3 out of the 10 problems on my test came from the online exam. I have to say that using online resources is much more efficient, and be a great way to study and prepare for upcoming exams.
